Manchester-formed but London based, the Crane Brothers have steadily plied the indie gig circuit for more than a year building a reputation for outstanding live performances. Using chopping guitars with a powerful brass section, the band serves up compulsive, intelligently created music blending fresh ska with indie and a generous twist of northern soul. They carry a musical style that is very much their own but also rooted to the styles and sounds from the likes of The Specials, Toots Hibert, Tom Waits and Bruce Springsteen. The result is a brotherhood of five genuine musicians delivering an authentic sound with a vital contemporary edge.
