FAN UNiTY and DEViSiON
Hailing from Greenwich this four-piece are musically tight-as-a-gnat's-arse after storming this year's festival scene including SIX gigs at Glastonbury and performances at the Secret Garden Party- an amazing feat considering they're unsigned and self-managed! Vox/ Guitar- Unity Guitar/ Vox- Dru Bass- Jason Rollin Rivers Drums- Cosmos Anyone who has seen UNiTY & DEViSiON live onstage will bear witness to them delivering a cracking show night-after-night: with an explosion of sound from the start and Unity's unique presence and voice, her mid-song costume changes bring a burlesque edge to the act and show her as a feisty, ferocious and sexy front-woman- and she plays a mean guitar! Unity & Devision started as an acoustic duo and searched for a tight rhythm section when they got booked to play Trafalgar Square. A change in line-up with Jason joining as bass player in February has been the catalyst for new songs and solidifying what was already a wicked two-hour set. U&D thought they had been taken out of the game after drummer Cosmos severely broke his arm at the start of the year- luckily for them he healed remarkably quickly and they were spotted at one of their live shows in the Spring, catapaulted onto the festival scene by an army of new fans, including BBC6 Music, BBC Southern Counties and RadioReverb in Brighton.
Influences: the media, drugs, sex, alcohol, love, mischief, pixieness, flowers growing from cracks in pavements. The band may or may not necessarily involve themselves in any or all of the above- they're reference points. We're inspired by truth, honesty and stories of victory through pain. and loud music. but only if it's not on crappy speakers- we often send sound limiters straight into the red! Between the four of us there are too many musical performers too start listing, suffice to say that we love all kinds of stuff and don't rely too heavily on trying to sound like our fave musicians, otherwise we'd end up sounding like something we're not.
