TUNE Sports Team - Camel Crew
Sports Team release new single ‘Camel Crew’ via Nice Swan Records on 16th March 2018.
‘Camel Crew’ is the second track to be lifted from the band’s debut ‘Winter Nets’ EP - which is out now and includes a limited edition 10” vinyl release.
The band’s debut single ‘Beverly Rose’ was championed by tastemakers at Radio 1, 6Music and Radio X.
‘Camel Crew’, which was premiered by BBC Introducing In Kent’s Abbie McCarthy, was recorded and produced by Dave McCracken (Florence and the Machine, Beyonce, Depeche Mode).
Channelling a lyrical cynicism that touches on provincial clichés (“Britain in Bloom displays on roundabouts. Mock-tudor semis. Flower beds. The weather”), ‘Camel Crew' is a raucous, and darkly humorous crawl through the English suburbs.
Sports Team embark on the ‘Nice Swan Records Presents’ Tour alongside Pip Blom in March - where they play London’s Moth Club on the 28th. The band are also already confirmed for festival appearances at The Great Escape, Handmade and Live at Leeds. Full dates below.

On the new EP, Alex explains:
“Winter Nets was recorded at the end of the summer, we’d gone in to Dave’s studio planning to record two tracks and wound up with six. It’s based in an old timber yard the council periodically threaten to flatten, so we were trying to do as much as we can while it was there – I think Dave pretty quickly realised we weren’t going to be able to play to a click-track. We spent most of the first two days at the Plough and Harrow. After getting over the fact that we were going to have to record something, we went in and just started playing live.”
