Ben Parcell is one of the U.K's new breed of folk artists. He has been busy playing over 250 gigs across England and Scotland in the last three years. Along the way supporting respected UK acoustic artists Chris Helme (The Seahorses), Mark Morriss (Bluetones), Ben Marwood, Alice Gold, Ryan Spendlove, Edwina Hayes, Jon Windle.
2013 sees the release of Ben's third official release 'Expectations' drawing from influences of modern pop folk artists such as Frank Turner and Ed Sheeran. 'Expectations' has been produced by Harry David (Recently had airplay on Radio 1) and the angelic voice of Gracie Falls on the duet of "Out Of Here'
2011 saw Ben's music take a slightly different direction, bringing more Folk influences into his repertoire. His new E.P 'Painted By Numbers' which is an acoustic affair features 4 tracks of stripped down organic sound featuring special guest Edwina Hayes on backing vocals.
His debut music video 'Close Your Eyes' has been on regular rotation on TV when it was accepted for the playlist on Lava TV on Sky Digital and his 2nd video 'Stay In Touch' was shown by BlankTV.
His song 'The Only One' is featured on the benefit compilation 'Unity' by Engineer Records which features mainstream acts such as 'The Gaslight Anthem' 'Fightstar', 'Funeral For a Friend' and 'Luke Pickett'.
In 2010 he self produced and independently released his debut 10 track album “Humble Beginnings” as well as playing all the instruments on the limited edition pressing of 1000 CDs which has had several critically acclaimed reviews from respected publications.
Ben was invited by Alan Raw to play a live acoustic session on BBC Introducing as well as having his album and E.P tracks played regularly and recently made it onto the featured undiscovered artist of the week on Yorkshire Coast Radio.
He is influenced from a wide range of music such as The Beatles, Frank Turner, Elvis Costello, Green Day, The Ataris. Taking elements from Pop, Rock and Folk. he blends together a catchy, honest sound.
