BIMM - Brighton & Bristol Institute of Modern Music is an award winning music college with courses in guitar, drums, bass, vocals, songwriting, keyboards and live sound/tour management to degree level.
Successful musicians from BIMM include THE KOOKS, who met and formed at BIMM and have since sold over 2 million albums worldwide, including a no.1 album in the UK. Brit nominated singer/songwriter BETH ROWLEY released a Top 10 album and KATE WALSH became the first un-signed artists to go to No.1 on the iTunes album chart. Also, in excess of 20 bands/ artists have also signed record label deals including deals with Polydor, Sony Music, Virgin, Epitaph and Mercury Records. BIMM tutors include Chris Difford (Squeeze), Steve White (Paul Weller), Adrian Legg (Joe Satriani), Kenwyn House (Reef) and Kelle Bryan (Eternal).
BIMM also holds regular masterclasses and guests have included Jeff Beck, Imogen Heap, Lemmy, Newton Faulkner, Chad Smith, Billy Sheehan, Guthrie Govan, Beverley Knight, Sir Horace Gentleman, Kaiser Chiefs , Scissor Sisters and Franz Ferdinand.
