Hotly tipped to follow in the footsteps of other top Welsh rock bands such as the Manic Street Preachers, Stereophonics, Super Furry Animals, Feeder and The Automatic, Calansho are causing a stir and have gained a reputation as one of the most exciting and original unsigned bands on the scene.
Since forming two years ago, Calansho have played successful gigs around the UK and have developed an original sound which has a great deal of energy and power.
Calansho have performed on TV programmes, most recently they were given the opportunity of recording a music video on TV programme ‘Bandit’, hosted by BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stevens (video on myspace). They have also had repeated airplay on radio stations in Wales.
Below are some quotes from the media in the last year –
o “If I had to compare them to anybody, it would be Kasabian, purely because they don’t sound like anyone else.” (Snogonline Website)
o “Calansho’s set was energetic, throwing their souls into each original number. If you don’t check these guys out you will be kicking yourself.” (North Wales Weekly News)
o “The leading light of the Welsh indie scene” (BBC Wales).
