Courtyards are four idiosyncratic individuals, emerging from university in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire after hosting a party at their student halls involving homebrew pyrotechnics, unregulated street wrestling and the first naked binsurfing championships.
With an encompassing quality, their sound has been described as “panoramic indie-rock, quick to blow away the cobwebs” – Indie Midlands.
Appearances in 2018 at Live at Leeds, The Alternative Escape & Blackthorn Music Festivals earned them the status of “ready for the step to festival main stages” - The Emergence.
With multiple BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio plays under their belt for their past singles since their debut, including 2019’s first release, ‘Colours’, it’s fair to say they have sparked interest among the presenters.
Courtyards plan their next release, ‘Stay Up’, on 26th July, the day before their debut performance at Kendal Calling festival, their biggest festival to date with a Saturday slot confirmed on The Woodlands stage.
