TUNE anrimeal - Encaustic Witches
An experimental folk track taken from the debut album by anrimeal, Could Divine. Reminiscent of Scott Walker’s later work, Encaustic Witches combines anrimeal’s compositional prowess and love of close choral harmony with a simmering dread and feverish intensity that holds the listener in its power.
anrimeal: “Encaustic Witches is the furthest I've gone with field recording manipulation. I wanted to work the natural world through an artificial lens as one would work wild land into a crop. There's something quite brutal about taking nature and reorganising it to our personal means and fancies. This track is about that, and so is the video of cut-up leaves and petals.”
