TUNE Debbie Curtis & The Gangsters of The Groove - Lover
Wrote this aged about 12, hence the lyrics are a little strange in parts, but I like it especially Dave Reynold's guitar solo.

Your music is wonderful and brings back a strange memory for me. Many aeons ago (1974 or so), I answered an ad on a local Jackson Mississippi radio station, a club band called "Sunpillow"was looking for a lead guitarist. They had a blonde female lead singer and were doing folk rock covers of stuff like Jefferson Airplane and It's a Beautiful Day. I got the job, though I was only 15 and had to perform with a fake ID. Anyway, I played with them for a few months and then one night the keyboardist presented the band with his great idea. He wanted us to put on these hideous sequined suits and platform shoes and play disco music (the latest craze at the time). I laughed and left (I wanted to be Jimi Hendrix, not Barry Gibb) and the band went their new direction and moved out of town to New York or somewhere. A year later I see them on American Bandstand playing their new hit "More More" and calling themselves "The Andrea True Connection". I liked their music, even if it wasn't my cup of tea, but I never regretted leaving. I look horrible in white sequins and God knows what they would've done to my hair!
