Gillian Christie, a 19-year-old singer/songwriter from just outside Glasgow who composes mellow, catchy folk/pop songs, has already made a name for herself all playing over Scotland in the past two years.
Gillian started playing music when she was picked up the guitar at 14, and wrote, recorded and produced her debut ep Thinking Space: Part 1 at the age of 18. Gillian has quickly gained an underground following throughout Glasgow, and has quickly become a must see on Glasgow’s acoustic music scene.
Gillian has been playing away happily on Glasgow’s underground scene as everyone’s favourite musical secret allowing her to follow her other passion for art attending the Glasgow School of Art.
2010 is proved to be the year Christie cames to the forefront of Scotland’s live music scene with the release of Thinking Space: Part 1 on the 10th September at the prestigous Recital Rooms in Glasgow, as well as a slot at this year’s Wickerman Festival and Scottish tour thereafter.
