Hilldrop Records was born from a group of rurally based friends with the purpose of creating a vehicle to release their own music and that of people from similar musical backgrounds. It has since taken the steps to become a fully operational independent record label, releasing annual compilations of acts with which they work closely and signing enchanting new artists often for their first release ‘proper’.
With a staunch emphasis on independence Hilldrop Records hope to echo influential smaller labels in only releasing relevant music that holds substance. Ultimately it is our intention to play a part in bringing independent thought, independent art and independent music back into the foreground of British culture.
Currently the proud home of Little Sea Monsters and Nicholas Stevenson, Hilldrop Records has also played host to a wealth of wonderful musicians with the likes Matthew Kilford, The Worrisome Ankletrout, Waves Break Red Saga and Small Engine Repair joining us for numerous evenings of memorable music.
Hilldrop is a collective family effort with all around input and an open door to all new interesting and innovative ideas, art and music. The wonderful and weird shall never be overlooked.
