TUNE School Of X - Words
“...shadowy and seductive, reminiscent of artists like Glass Animals and Ben Khan, he’s displayed an ability to incorporate unique instrumentation that keeps his records attention-grabbing and unpredictable.” NYLON
Currently touring drummer for MØ and Major Lazer, Copenhagen-based Rasmus Littauer spends the majority of his time on the road. Rare downtime is spent writing and producing tracks for his solo project, School Of X. Littauer has unveiled the first taster of his sound in the form of new single “Words”. Described by The Line Of Best Fit as “a woozy electronic pop track”, the song is a melancholic, synth-heavy swooner complete with booming drums.
"My songs are usually about a state of mind. It's rarely a narrative. Words is about fiercely wanting something but at the same time not being able to let go of what you already have. It's a feeling I think everyone recognizes in all aspects of life, including myself.”
“Words” follows a previously uploaded demo version of the track, which received international critical acclaim and earned Littauer his first performance slot as School Of X at the Laura Snapes-curated MXD (Music Export Denmark) stage at this year’s SPOT Festival.
"School of X is a school for everyone and everything” says Littauer. "You could say that I’m a student as well as everybody else is, in their own way."
The new track is the first from the debut School Of X EP, set to be announced soon and due late 2017 via Danish label ArtPeople.
