Hello, good evening and welcome to the Jag amazingtunes profile page biography. Jag? Who or what is Jag?Well, Jag isn’t actually an artist, but a collection of artists, or an independent record label if you want to start pigeon-holing us.
How about some history? Okay, it all started with an email on the 10th June 2009 entitled “I’ve had an idea”. That idea was to bring together all the artists that we know and believe in, and give their music a great chance to be listened to and appreciated by as many people as possible. So we started up Jag with a myspace account and soon moved on to our own website (www.soundsofjag.co.uk) where we introduced the internet world to our artists and their music. Jag is now also present on twitter: www.twitter.com/soundsofjag and we also have a facebook fan page: www.facebook.com/soundsofjag.
In July 2010 we released a compilation album called “The Cure For Whatever It Is That Ails You”. This was our sampler, our introduction to the artists on the Jag roster. The fourteen tracks on the album take the listener from whimsical acoustic to synthy post rock via techno, electronica and other styles and genres in between. The progression from each track to the next pointed to the diversity of the styles on the Jag roster.
And how about the future for Jag?
We will be releasing a single called "It's Not What You've Done, It's What It Does To You" by Paul Davies on 7th September 2010. We are also looking to release an EP by The Gummy Web and an album by Liquitex by the end of the year. We will, no doubt, be making further releases in 2011.
Thanks for reading, you've been a great audience, goodnight.
