Kray-zee is a rapper/beat maker who's music is as thought provoking as it is entertaining. Hailing from NW London, Kray-zee embodies the growing disenchantment prevalent in the hip-hop world today. This musical rebel is as creatively detached from the rap main stream as modern day rappers are from the real world. While most of his music is written, produced, recorded, arranged, engineered and mastered by himself (not all at the same time) in his home studio, the quality and talent is there for all to hear.
‘I initially started rapping as a joke. A few of my friends did it. My friend Starvin, and my friend Vortex….. Then one day I was with a few other friends on a Friday night, as you do, hanging out listening to 279 on Choice. They were doing this “60 seconds of fame” thing. One of my friends called up and just put me on the phone. So I played along and just did a little freestyle. Some other guy come on and spat too then the audience had to vote for who was the best. It was the first time they’d ever done this on 279 and Outsidaz were in the studio that night. They’re like one of my favourite groups and they voted for me which was fantastic. In the end I won the votes! I went back on the following week and won again! The third Friday I’d just finished my A levels and I was in a bar completely pissed when I had to go on and lost but I realised maybe I had something. But it’s up to you, the listeners, to decide if I have something!’
