Shortlisted in 2017 by the Manchester Evening News as one of Manchester’s Best Breakthrough Artists, Glossop’s Larkin’s have rapidly made a name for themselves amongst both fans and critics alike. Partly due to their eschewing of indie-rock swagger, instead harbouring a sleek and easy-going pop sensibility, and partly due to their effortless amalgamation of indie-pop, funk and blues.
The release of 'Velvet' in 2016 started a chain of much bigger gigs and support slots such as John Cooper Clark (the Ritz, Manchester/The o2 academy, London), Young Kato (sound control, Manchester) and Slow readers club (The Ritz, Manchester) with the year culminating in a sold out single launch at Manchester’s Club Academy. Summer also saw the band take to various festival stages including both Tramlines and Kendal Calling. Now, following the sell out of their biggest show to date, a headline slot at the 700 cap Gorilla in their home-town of Manchester Larkins are undoubtedly gearing up to make 2017 their biggest yet.
