Midlands punk four-piece Loom release a new single Yosoko, through GeneralChang Records on May 12th. The single will be available on limited edition 7” vinyl and a digital download via iTunes and features, on the B.side, a cover of the Wire classic Lowdown. The single was recorded at Konk Studios in North London, produced by John Coxon and mixed by Mark Ralph (Jagwar Ma/Franz Ferdinand).
Loom have just completed the recordings for their debut album for release later this year and describe it as ‘a journey through the punk spectrum.’ 2013 saw the band touring the UK extensively, including a residency at Camden’s Black Heart and support to the Rolling Stones at Hyde Park. 2014 looks to be even busier with more shows and summer festival appearances to be announced shortly.
Loom have released four highly acclaimed singles: Bleed On Me (a cassette only release); I Get A Taste, released in March 2013, picked up multiple plays on Radio One and received the stamp of approval from Noel Gallagher; Acid King City produced by John Coxon (Spiritualized) and the mysterious Pepper Andnly was available as a free download in May; a limited edition Covers Cassette which sold out within hours of its release in August and featured songs by Bad Brains/Jesus Lizard/GG Allin/Pixies & Warsaw; Lice EP released via iTunes rounded up a very busy and successful year and was NME Magazine’s “On Repeat Track of the Week” on its release in December.
