Independent artist from Kent, UK. As a non-gigging/touring musician with M.E and Fibromyalgia, as well as a mental health advocate, Nic is passionate about those with mental and physical disabilities finding the whole music business overwhelming and difficult to approach having a voice and being heard. There are many musicians coping with illness who feel they are not the 'whole package', and they can often be those with the most to say and making the most wonderful music. Nic believes this needs to change, and there needs to be an all-inclusive platform for every musician, whether they are able to tour, gig, record, feel comfortable with self-promotion (and all the stresses that can cause in itself) or not.
EP For the Money was released June 2019, featuring the title track, as well as Softly, Crystal and Crime and a bonus track 'Letters from the Whale.". All these tracks used beats created by the artist FL Souto.
Nic released 'Waiting for the Leaves' in early Autumn 2020 and was delighted to have a teeny bit of the track 'Broken Boat' used by BBC 2's Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing. The album is a return to folkier roots and explores our relationship with nature and the messages it gives us if we are listening.
"Nic Evennett casually takes flight into the kind of harmonic territory that leaves other songwriters standing." Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music.
"Evennett’s voice is a delicate mystery, warm and lustrous, yet fragile and crystalline – a bewitching blend of Kate Bush and Linda Perhacs, surrounded by dolorous, reverb-drenched piano and woven into broken-hearted balladry." Andee Connors, Pandora
