"...a breezy piece of yacht pop, a bleached out neo-psychedelic gem." – CLASH
“…a sound that transports you to the American west coast with a hazy mystique and intoxicating glamour” – TENEMENT TV
On the back of his successful debut release in 2017, multi-instrumentalist OAKLND returns with another dose of California-inspired pop through brand new single, LYF. Out 20th March via AWAL.
Combining elements of dreamy Cali-Pop produced by the likes of LANY and Fickle Friends, with R&B sensibilities of acts like LAUV, LYF sees OAKLND create a mellow electro pop sound meshed with personal lyrics and drenched in glittering synths.
OAKLND’s debut single, released in November last year was championed by Amazing Radio DJ’s Jim Gellatly, Charlie Ashcroft and Shell Zenner and received backing from industry taste-makers such as CLASH and Tenement TV. Described by CLASH as “Fusing chillwave with R&B, each song feels like an introverted journey through the west coast, the sound of an outsider looking in.”
2018 promises to be a huge year for the Edinburgh native, aiming for the intoxicating glamour of the west-coast with follow-up single LYF.
LYF by OAKLND is out on 20th March 2018 via AWAL.
