TUNE OK Button - Flesh & Blood [Radio Edit]
2018 was an incredible beginning for dream-pop trio OK Button. Gaining praise and success with their first two ethereal single ‘The Message’ and ‘Beds’.
Born in a Scottish-based underground music venue, the band was born out of a chance meeting.
Amber Wilson, Nass Donald and Adam Falkner are the musicians behind the moniker boasting notable past projects. Amber was performing an acoustic set in her native Aberdeen when Adam fortuitously stumbled upon her gig. The two formed a friendship and began sharing song ideas over email. The process served as a welcome escapism from the loneliness of being on the road with their respective musical projects – Amber as vocalist with Bombay Bicycle Club and Morcheeba, and Adam as a drummer for One Eskimo and Babyshambles.
The duo teamed up with multi-instrumentalist Nass and writer/producer Craigie Dodds (Amy Winehouse, Gorillaz, Sugababes) and thus the outfit’s dark electronic, synth-pop sound was born.
Latest single ‘Flesh & Blood’ illustrates lyrically the mental strains that love on ourselves and those close to us. OK Button continue to illustrate their gift of channelling thought-provoking themes through ambient synth-pop and still providing notable contrasts. They once again team up with BAFTA winning director Tim Courtney on their latest accompanying video. Part narrative, part music performance, it’s presented fascinatingly like a fashion photography editorial. Thus unfolds a physical representation of conflict, manipulation and mental illness.
A poignant song, ‘Flesh & Blood’ is heart-rending but still manages to leave the listener bathing in sonic beauty.
‘Flesh & Blood’ is released 18 January
