TUNE Jared Celosse - New Orleans (Esca)
Following the release of his critically acclaimed debut EP, 'Four Cold Walls', Jared Celosse returns with a new song, 'New Orleans (Esca)', which also saw him win the inaugural Stewart Cruickshank Bursary Award.
Jared is a prodigious singer-songwriter, with roots in Holland, England and the Czech Republic, who now calls Glasgow home. His new single 'New Orleans (Esca)', was selected by the Stewart Cruickshank Bursary Award judges, who described it as an "original, unexpected and evocative song, which was adventurously written and produced". It is taken from Jared's forthcoming EP, Archipelago Vol.1, which will be out on Olive Grove later this summer.
"The song is centred on the luring of a man through dimly lit streets in New Orleans. He is hypnotised by beauty - an 'esca' and led to its maker. 'Esca' is the name given to the bioluminescent 'rod' an angler-fish uses to lure in prey."
