Maxsta "I Wanna Rock"2012
1 I Wanna Rocka/p
Maxsta – the youngest grime artist on the scene is set to release his hook laden debut single ‘I Wanna Rock’ on 6th August through Just Jams/Sony RCA. Maxsta will be the first artist to release a record through SBTV Founder and Young Entrepreneur Jamal Edwards’s label Just Jam – an offshoot of Sony RCA. The track, produced by Show N Prove (Tinchy Stryder, Wretch 32, K Koke, Smiler, Benny Banks “Bada Bing”), shows Maxsta’s ability to play around with flows and his versatility to sit on any type of beat. Born Ian Koromah in Lewisham in 1992, his parents came to England to escape the horror of Sierra Leone’s brutal civil war, raising their son in Peckham before relocating to East Ham. A precocious musical talent from day one, Maxsta started rapping at the age of 14, inspired by the intricate cerebral flows of his heroes Eminem, Big L, Dizzee, and Roll Deep. Never one to bite his tongue, Maxsta’s reputation as the grime scene’s most visceral young firebrand was firmly cemented in 2010 with “East London Is Back”. A critical smash, it made his mixtape – The Maxtape – one of the scene’s biggest sellers of the year. With a desire to slowly cross into the mainstream, “I Wanna Rock”, promises to bring things back to the dance floor.
