PAPA release their new single 'Put Me To Work' on 13th May 2013 through their own Sunny Side Up Records. PAPA’s Darren Weiss and Danny Presant are that rare breed – native Los Angelinos. The pair are kicking up a fuss in their hometown, about to unleash the unpigeonholeable, yet dancefloor-ready sounds of PAPA outside of their home city. Following on from their US debut EP ‘A Good Woman Is Hard To Find’, it is the debut UK single ‘Put Me To Work’ that is currently making a big noise on both sides of the Atlantic. It is an instantly exciting tune, and just one of many that justifies the hefty buzz circling around PAPA which intensified at SXSW in March. Weiss’s love of punk, and Present's infatuation with hip-hop has seeped into PAPA’s hectic live shows, which see the frontman breaking out from behind his drums to do frantic handstands and leap into the crowd. Put Me To Work is an explosive tune and one that erupts as soon as it begins. There is no discernible chorus to speak of, but it is a song stacked full of melody and hooks. It is a big indie rock song, and a fine example of why PAPA are a big new band.
