1 'Heartache Fetish'a/p
Kaleidoscopic musician and visual artist Young & Sick follows his Continuum EP with new UK single ‘Heartache Fetish’, released August 11th via Virgin EMI in the UK. The last few months have seen the multi-talented artist winning over ever more fans with excitedly received debut UK shows and a set of sold out North American tour dates. ‘Heartache Fetish’ serves as yet another prime example of Young & Sick’s accomplished craft, with rippling beats and breathtaking harmonies coming together for simultaneously emotive and deliciously twisted pop. This is complimented by the tracks accompanying video, a rich and jarring clip set in Southeast Asia and saturated in deep red tones. Young & Sick is Nick Van Hofwegen, a vocalist, songwriter, producer and visual artist hailing from a small town in the Netherlands and residing in LA. From his earliest days of writing and producing, Nick displayed an intrinsic talent for making unapologetically catchy, heart-on-sleeve music. The realisation that he was also an adept visual artist came almost by accident, when an acquaintance named Mark Foster, vocalist of Foster The People, asked him to do the artwork for a new single, which went to become one of the biggest songs in the world. Young & Sick went on to handle creative direction for #1 singles by Maroon 5, Robin Thicke, as well as engaging in a range of gallery and street art projects.
