Emmy The Great returns with new single ‘Algorithm’ on 11th March on Bella Union and is the first single from her highly anticipated third album ‘Second Love’ (also 11th March). “It’s about searching for meaning in the noise,” Emma-Lee Moss says of ‘Algorithm’ . “It encapsulates the feeling behind the whole album.” Acoustic guitars step into harmonies like dappled sunlight, distant sirens flicker and synthesisers echo. On ‘Second Love’, Emma-Lee Moss delves into the chambers of a human heart ever-connected to the flare of a nearby screen. Written in cities - Salt Lake City, Tokyo, Hong Kong, LA, New York and London - during an itinerant period in Emmy’s life, her new songs track the resulting personal changes and explore the new world around us, filtered through technology. Previous recordings have been introspective, reflecting the deepest concerns and confines of her own mind, now she looks outwards. March UK tour: O2 Academy, Oxford (11th), The Bodega, Nottingham (12th), The Cluny, Newcastle (13th), Stereo, Glasgow (15th), Belgrave Music Hall, Leeds (16th), Thekla, Bristol (18th), O2 Institute 3, Birmingham (19th), Band on the Wall, Manchester (20th), Norwich Arts Centre, Norwich (22nd), Joiners, Southampton (23rd) and Islington Assembly Hall, London (24th).
