TUNE JPNSGRLS - Tiger (radio edit)
JPNSGRLS release new album ‘Circulation’ on Light Organ Records 6th April.
Forming in Vancouver in 2010 - JPNSGRLS (pronounced Japanese Girls) consist of singer Charlie Kerr, guitarist Oliver Mann, bassist Chris McClelland and drummer Graham Serl. Their name was inspired by the female Japanese rock band Mass of the Fermenting Dregs, with the vowels later removed. 2013’s debut EP ‘The Sharkweek’ surrounded the band with a buzz which attracted Light Organ Records. A less-is-more approach meant their debut LP was recorded in just one week at Vancouver’s Greenhouse Studios with producer Steve Bays (Hot Hot Heat) and mastered by world renowned engineer Greg Calbi (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Tame Impala, MGMT).
The band play this year’s SXSW and The Great Escape Festival (to be announced soon + UK dates tbc).
“high octane drum rhythms, bustling basslines and scrappy fretwork on ‘Brace Yourself’ all point towards the sound of Arctic Monkeys’ groundbreaking debut album” - NME
