TUNE LoneLady - Bunkerpop
LoneLady releases new single ‘Bunkerpop’ 16/03/2015 on Warp Records, ahead of new album ‘Hinterland’ (23/03/2015).
Following on from last year’s infectious single ‘Groove It Out‘, LoneLady (a.k.a singer/songwriter Julie Campbell) returns with second single ‘Bunkerpop’. It’s taken from her second full length album ‘Hinterland’, which conjures impressions of decayed Manchester outskirts and reclusive inner landscapes, all underpinned by the urgent post-punk sensibility engrossed in Campbell’s music. Performing guitar, keyboards, cello, vocals, using drum pads and more, Campbell recorded, mixed and produced the new material in her home studio, Concrete Retreat, located in her Manchester warehouse. She then travelled to an industrial region in Michigan for some final touches at Keyclub Recording Co., pillaging a hoard of classic synths, drum machines and a 70’s Flickinger console that had one previous owner - Sly Stone.
LoneLady plays a sold out Elektrowerkz, London, on 24th Feb with more dates TBC.
