TUNE Queen Kwong - Raptures
Queen Kwong releases new single ‘Raptures’ via Edison Sound on 31st August, taken from current album ‘Love Me To Death’ (out now).
Multi-instrumentalist Queen Kwong (Carré Callaway) has crafted a beautifully dreamlike single in ‘Raptures’, leaving a haunting space for her lyrical honesty to take centre stage. With a slow build up and fragile, yet assertive layered vocals, it draws the listener in before kicking back with an irresistible hook. Callaway landed on the music scene aged 17 after a chance meeting with Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) and has supported the band on numerous tours, most recently in Las Vegas over three consecutive dates.
With ‘Raptures’, she’s not only cementing herself as one of the hardest working and truly honest musicians on the circuit, but she’s defying the conventions she’s had forced on her throughout her adult life. With a powerful emotional bond to her music, she has created a portrayal of both her personal and creative freedom.
Queen Kwong will tour in July including support dates with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club*: Rough Trade Bristol (11th), Heartbreakers Southampton (12th), 2000 Trees (14th), La 2 De Apolo Barcelona* (16th), Supersonic Paris (17th), Rocca Malatestiana Italy* (23rd), Hope & Ruin Brighton (25th), The Forum London* (26th), Rough Trade East London (27th), Rock City Nottingham (28th), Brudenell Social Club Leeds (29th), O2 Academy Glasgow* (30th), Night & Day Café Manchester (31st).
