Straylings release new single ‘Muddy Walls’ via Deadpan Records on 23rd February backed by forthcoming album ‘Wild Medicine’ (also 23rd February).
Straylings formed after Dana Zeera travelled from her homeland of Bahrain to study in England. Drawn quickly into North London’s live scene which was at odds with her Middle Eastern up-bringing, she soon crossed paths with English guitarist Oliver Drake.
Following the release of their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Entertainment on Foreign Grounds’, the duo made the decision to take a step back from their music. Rooted firmly to the idea of releasing on their own terms and desiring an unforced creative process, the pair absorbed themselves in life outside of music over the following 18 months. This resulted in an absence of compromise and allowed inspiration to unfold in its own time.
Straylings are distinctively recognisable with Middle Eastern influences, electric piano, fuzz guitar and synths to form a psychedelic wrap from which Zeera’s enigmatic vocals float spectrally.
