Luxley is a wildfire. Started by former full-scholarship MD/PHD student Ryan Gray, Gray started Luxley when music began to pour out as a creative outlet while studying medicine full-time at Tulane University in his hometown of New Orleans, LA. As his passion for music grew, Gray found himself leaving school to pursue music full-time.
What happened since then has been a blur. In just one year since leaving school, Gray wrote and recorded his Spirit EP with producer Ayad Al-Adham (x-Passion Pit, Team Spirit) and engineer/mixer Justin Gerrish, and found himself on the road with Bombay Bicycle Club and Milo Greene with a live show that has been described as a "rousing set of joyous pop" (CMJ.com) and "a dance-filled, high energy night" (The Wild Honey Pie). Along the way, Luxley's lead single and title-track for their forthcoming EP "Spirit" (released October 15, 2014) has found itself organic FM and internet radio play out in the wild, being featured on KGUP 106.5FM, KSCR, World Wide Indie Radio.
Due out in Spring of 2015, the Spirit EP is an "an effervescent cascade of danceable momentum, with alternating breathy verses, and high-pitched choruses" (BULLETT Media) and "big time spirited pop...with infectious tones that you never want to end" (Impose Magazine).
“To me, life isn’t about what you do, its about who you are,” Gray says. “Let go of the past, and follow what makes you most happy.”
