TUNE Springfield Elementary - Five Second Rule
With live fan-favourite groove-laden single ‘Five Second Rule’ scheduled for release in October 2019, this is ‘Springfield Elementary at their best yet’.
Championed by BBC Radio 1's Huw Stephens and international publications including Public Pressure, Luminous Dash, Louder Than War and Hype Machine, the Manchester-based quartet have ‘a real penchant for the pulse of punk’. Sound good? Springfield Elementary’s second release ‘Five Second Rule’ follows form with a snappy, stripped-back - though unique as always - second offering.
Giving some background to the vibrant new release, Goodwin explained that 'Five Second Rule' is the band's take on the popular phrase, with the single aiming to ‘explore the idea of the “five second rule” in a more tongue-in-cheek way. By replacing food with the context of time slipping away from us, we want to highlight how mistakes can't be taken back (though sometimes it might come in handy!)’.
Merging their favourite sounds from the last 50 years of Punk and Psychedelia, Springfield Elementary may have only been going for just-over year but the young band are already making waves in the North - creating their own fuzz-soaked cocktail that truly speaks for itself. The band is made up by Billy Goodwin (Vocals/Guitar), Brad Lewis (Lead Guitar), Liam Moffat (Bass) and Chris Tomkinson (Drums).
