TUNE Los Bitchos - Bugs Bunny
The sun-gods have answered our prayers and London based trio Los Bitchos are back bang on time for the summer season with another balmy piece of instrumental psychedelic-cumbia. ‘Bugs Bunny’ will arrive on 9th August on Strong Island Recordings via a limited run of high quality 7” lathe-cut vinyl complete with a special greetings holiday postcard made by the band.
‘Bugs Bunny’ is the perfect summer beach bonfire anthem from the rising trio who have been a breath of fresh-air since their formation in 2017. The accompanying video to this exotic sun-soaked banger, sees the girls jamming their way around streets of London, downing pints in the pub and eating pizza - there’s even a cute dog. Epitomising the band’s fun-filled ethos of good times with good people, there’s a lot to love about this simple yet brilliantly care-free clip.
On the single itself the band state ‘ Bugs Bunny is the first track we ever wrote together as a band. Named Bugs Bunny after the fact that cartoons don't really fall off a cliff until they look down and realise they're about fall off a cliff, we were having a really rough day that felt like those gravity-defying seconds before a looming free fall...’
Having already shared the stage with the likes of Toy, The Parrots, The Buttertones and Kikagaku Moyo, Los Bitchos have proven themselves to be one of the most fun and captivating bands out at the moment and with only their intoxicating debut ‘Tripping Party’ and their marvellous re-working of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s ‘Trapdoor’ released to date, they’re definitely ones to watch.
Join the party at one of Los Bitchos’ following live dates:
9 August The Waiting Room, London
10 August The Sun Deck, Margate
8 September The Hope & Ruin, Brighton
15 September Astral Elevator Psychedelic Festival, Manchester
6 October Dials Festival, Portsmouth
“Los Bitchos are one of London's more unusual new groups. The three-piece match a penchant for garage punk and psychedelia with a knowledge of South American cumbia, a deeply rhythmic style that dominates their imagination”. (Clash Magazine)
“The exciting London-based trio are creating a Latin American dance-oriented sound indebted to summertime frolics and excessive tequila consumption.” (Song Of The Day - Line of Best Fit)
“Trapdoor keeps the smiles going. This one sounds like a soft-focus advert for a holiday destination from the sixties or perhaps a track from a long-lost album of groovy elevator music called Tropical Easy Listening Hits Yeah! Either way it’s 100% the soundtrack to good times.” (Breaking More Waves)
“Los Bitchos make the sort of music that you want to party to. Their infectiously exotic jams have quickly seen the band popping up on line ups all over the capital and we can see why.” (The Most Radicalist)
