The Electric Modern are an indie rock band from London, England.
The current line-up features Dean Canty (Vocals/Guitar), Adam Sullivan (Guitar/Vocals/Synth) and Jon Mytom-Hart (Drums).
With a sound that combines epic choruses, atmospheric synths and intricate guitar melodies, The Electric Modern have established their own unique brand of inventive and uplifting indie rock.
Since the band's inception they have played many prestigious live music venues around the U.K as well as recording material which later formed their self-titled debut album, “The Electric Modern” that was released in 2011.
After a line-up change the band entered the studio midway through 2011 and recorded a new three track EP entitled “Motives”.
The new songs were fresh, inspired and anthemic; possessing a more refined sound than their earlier material. “Motives” was officially released in March 2012 and was very well received critically. They received further recognition when “Let’s Get Away”, the first track off the EP, was awarded both download and single of the week on Amazing Radio.
They went on to record live sessions with BBC Introducing and were also picked by Vibe Radio to play at the annual Watford firework display, performing to over 30,000 people.
As well as radio airplay they have had positive coverage in other media; including esteemed online blogs such as ‘Alter the Press’, ‘AltSounds’ and the January 2012 issue of the influential magazine ‘Alternative Press.’
In early 2012, along with playing a collection of live dates, they released the singles “I’m Not Ready To Leave (Sleepless)” & “Dances With You” which were entirely self produced and recorded at their home studio in Watford.
They have been hard at work in the studio, most recently working with Producer Paul Tipler (Placebo, Moby, Idlewild, The Charlatans).
The single "Look Back" was mastered by Andy Baldwin (Interpol, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Coldplay, The Who, KT Tunstall) at Metropolis studios, London.
The new material is scheduled for a summer 2012 release.
The Electric Modern will be keeping busy for the rest of 2012 with lots of live shows, music videos and new music on the way.
