TUNE Bryony Sier - Babylon
Up and coming singer-songwriter is Bryony Sier is set to release her new EP ‘Babylon’ on November 17th.
Sier fell in love with music when her aunt started teaching her how to play guitar at age 12. Talking inspiration from the greats such as Johnny Cash, Bobbie Gentry, Buddy Holly, Led Zeppelin and Neil Young, she became a fan of, country, blues and gospel.
In 2013 Sier won the Spread the word arts and literature festival talent competition which was judged by singer/songwriter Amy Wadge (Co-writer for Ed Sheeran). Amy offered her the opportunity to work with her and record some songs. Amy also introduced her to The Young Promoters Network who invited her to workshops and gigs including sessions at Ffresh- Cardiff and chose me as one of the ten Forte Acts of 2016. Since being part of the Forte Project she was offered to be a support act for Rick Wakeman, performed at the Hay festival in support of Dan Bettridge (Horizons) and had the chance to work with producer Charlie Francis in which she recorded two 5 track EP's.
Sier’s track song ‘Babylon’ was chosen to get played in front of an A&R panel that included Lily Allen and Carla Marie Williams, who has written for the likes of Beyoncé, Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears, Craig David and more. If Babylon, Sier said, “Babylon is a song idea I had for quite a while. I had the tune all figured out, but I couldn’t think of what I wanted to say at the time I wrote the melody. Then one day it came to me, and I decided to write about finding a place where all your worries and anxieties can go away for that split second and you can enjoy the moment for what it is.”
Previous airplay support from Bethan Elfyn, Jamie Owen and Frank Hennessey, BBC Radio Wales; Andrew Shay, Nation Radio; U & I Radio; GTFM and Made in Cardiff TV.
