TUNE The Shakers - Tea Party
Written, recorded, produced and released independently by the band, the inspiration for the song follows similar themes of independence as a group. Essentially the song describes one of those parties where the only guests are a group of close friends and you can be as weird as you want. The band are trying to capture the mercurial moment of unexpected joy of time spent with good friends away from any of the influences of the uncertainties of life. The theme is emphasised with a fully immersive style of sound full of hard panned guitars, heavy drums and a sticky bass line groove that carries the song throughout. Steadily building to a showstopping crescendo, Tea Party is a classic example of The Shakers’ Disco/Rock genre that is a sound that is miles apart from anything around today.
