TUNE ZELA - I'm Healing
The hard-hitting track sees front-woman Liv Griff explore the complex, human process of personal healing, expressed using her unique punky approach to pop vocals.
Driving bass synths and percussive loops lead us into an anthem of self-recovery, as Liv spits an unapologetic admission of how she’s spent her time following a previous romantic breakup. As the chorus lands, we hear ZELA’s signature use of vocal production as Liv’s voice is chopped up into a unique melodic sequence, and in the bridge we hear a pensive monologue as she explores the delicate concept of healing as a human being in the digital age. Blended perfectly with the beats and production of her brother Max Griff, ZELA have a synergy in their sound only achieved through years of creative collaboration.
The track lands as ZELA's fourth single of 2020 after launching in March, and the final version of the song was produced during pandemic-induced lockdown, with the duo spending studio time separated by a glass screen for protection.
