Early Maze were a 3 piece band from the North East of England formed in 2008 but now it is just me, Jamie Harwood alone in Spain:
Jamie Harwood, guitars and vocals,
with beats supplied with machine like precision from Lord Darkmatter.
The band have released 2 full length albums so far;
`We Don`t Know Where We Are, But We`re Not Lost` in 2009
`Were Our Bodies Ever Found? in 2011
They have also released a number of singles;
`Show Some Speed` on vinyl (with exclusive b side)
`Miles Away` 3 track ep with 2 exclusive tracks
`Blue Christmas` CD with exclusive track and download
`Taste For It` Download only single.
Early Maze have been included on the Cloudragon label`s Shoegaze compilation and are frequent featured artists on `When The Sun Hits and `Ambient Airwaves` internet blogs.
The original line up for the 1st album in 2009 was;
Jamie Harwood - Guitar and Vocals
David Thompson - Drums and Percussion,
Simon Elgy - Bass Guitar
Michelle Gunton (Joined in 2010 on Bass and Vocals, added backing vocals to 1st album)
David Thompson left the band in 2010 but contributed drums to 4 of the 10 track 2nd album
David Ballard added drums and percussion on 3 of the tracks including the single `Miles Away`
A 3rd album, as yet untitled is recorded, with drum contributions again from David Thompson and bass and backing vocals supplied by Michelle Gunton
Early Maze create a sound which is their own unique new take on psychedelic rock music. Wide ranging, eclectic influences can be heard running through their music, but the end result will always sound like Early Maze.
