TUNE Lovespeake - DNA
Formed from the ashes of renowned Norwegian group Eye Emma Jedi, Lovespeake enter 2016 with their debut single in hand. "DNA" is the title track to their debut LP, DNA, set for an April release; although it's the first music that Lovespeake has released so far, a group of 38 Norwegian tastemakers and music industry professionals have already declared the band among the top ten acts to watch in 2016.
“DNA" repurposes Eye Emma Jedi's bright, anthemic, guitar-based sound into a warmer, funkier, more introspective psychedelic pop style. Its silky, smooth, reverberating glow permeates the entirety of DNA. Influences as vast as Random Access Memories, the 2009 summer of chillwave, late-'80s/early-'90s dream pop, and the tamer pop side of Animal Collective inform Lovespeake's debut album, which extends across 37 engrossing minutes of captivating, entrancing, genre-blurring joy. Its glorious sparkle is due in no small part to production from Jonas Raabe, who let Lovespeake record DNA at Badminton Bay, his studio in a barn in the Norwegian wilderness.
