TUNE DiscoAbsurdo - Method
- up in arms
- build up
An attempt to pen a generally empowering, angry, "get up" dance type of track, without any specific details about what the band is actually so "up in arms" about. Basically, it's a danceable, go-go-go sort of song, a kind of generic pop meditation on the inspiring frustration of bands like Rage Against the Machine. But by the end of the track, the generic pop anger of the lyrics breaks down in favor of a spewing of relevant, specific information about what is making the lyricist so upset, so "up in arms," so to speak. The mood of the song builds up throughout, so that by the finale, the listener should be somewhat engulfed in a kind of hysterical, but nevertheless very controlled rage. This track takes aimless fury, tosses it around with friends, then aims it squarely at the failing healthcare industry in America, along with the Wall Street brokers who crashed the economic system.
Great tune. Loving that really distinctive vocal. Much respect for the sentiment of the song too.
