TUNE SPINN - Is There Something That I Missed?
NEW SINGLE - ‘IS THERE SOMETHING THAT I MISSED’
“Tell me something, there must be something that I missed / Tell me something but I don’t want to reminisce”
New single from SPINN and prelude to their debut album is ’Is There Something That I Missed’, out now.
A moment of disconnection and re-connection, a crossed wire where fleetingly a flame burns, ‘Is There Something…’ is a sense of longing, a need for belonging, a desire and passion that resists and is reborn. SPINN frontman Jonny Quin explains, “It’s about two things really. Firstly, having an argument with somebody. Secondly, it's about wanting to better the situation you're in, which is something everybody can relate to. You can’t ever be truly content, it’s the human condition. We always want more.”
SPINN spent 2018 selling out their autumn UK headline tour, making the first visit to Japan, and clocking up over 3 million Spotify plays. If that is the beach head on the banks of the Mersey, then 2019 is the break out. Dates this month in London (Camden Assembly, 21st February) and Liverpool (Arts Club Theatre, 22nd February), surround the forthcoming announcement of their debut album and a UK wide tour in May.
This is a band at once able to give voice the frustrations of a generation while providing blissful escape into revelry. This is the sound of young people who want to love, live and re-connect in a world of digital static, ill feeling, hard words and the mirky stream of misinformation.
The band have been building a profile for over a year, with a string of addictive dance floor frenzied singles, several Spotify playlists, including New Music Friday, All New All Now, and The Indie List, alongside support from Radio 1, 6Music and Radio X, and the aforementioned sold out string of UK dates. In 2019, they head out on another headline tour following the album release on May 3rd.
