“It’ll sweep you off your feet and into a psychedelic vortex” DIY Magazine.
“Superb psychedelic pop music with a touch of dirt under it’s fingernails” Clash.
“Your new favourite Rock n’Roll band” Wonderland.
Enigmatic, Brighton-bred, five-piece White Room rose into 2017 nestled atop a wave of increasing attention with their radiant, self-aware brand of psych gently creeping into indie music’s nucleus over the past year; meshing the sound of British 60s guitar pop with Hacienda-sized levels of danceability.
The end of 2017 sees the band release their most genuine and polished work to date. Eight, a (you guessed it) 8-track double EP is a conceptual creation which interlocks thematically through its lyrics. Describing the core concepts within Eight as “positivity in the universe, joy, strength, balance and power in unity; the intrinsic beauty in the world which transcends all technology”.
Guitars gleam and choruses glide, wedding the transcendental nous of quirky, genre-bending bands such as Talking Heads and The Brian Jonestown Massacre to the heady, insouciant appeal of The Stone Roses. Eight was made for these times and the current state of affairs that besiege our youth. It’s made for dancing around without a care in the world or for sitting down, headphones in, looking for a new perspective. Either way, it will make you feel something.
