TUNE XAS - The Juniper Tree - Ascension
1. The Juniper Tree (Ascension) - a spoken word poem layered on top of a cinematic and eerie production which encompasses sonically the earthly knowledge (film scoring), which also marks the first level of communication with nature.

Words by Chloe Pandora Tingey
I am the juniper tree.
I have a twisted grey trunk
and dry needles for leaves.
My roots are brittle,
gripping into the ground so deep
that I can last without water for years.
I live on a small island where
The heat melts the horizon,
And the wind can last for weeks.
I am wild and free, requiring no maintenance,
For I have stood here for centuries before humans set foot on this land.
Come to me,
When you’re pale and thin
With deep frown marks etched into your brow
Come alone and
Live beneath my open arms.
Come with your hunched shoulders and shaking hands,
with your tired eyes and shallow breath
and I’ll cradle your body in a tender nest
as you lay your aching bones down.
You can water my roots every night
And we’ll search the desert sky
Until your mind finds peace again.
I’ll give you my strength as you sleep at my feet,
As I breathe out, you’ll breathe in.
I’ll whisper healing thoughts into your dreams
While two magical sprouts of juniper wings
Grow silently between your shoulder blades.
The oil from my bark is therapeutic
My smoke wards off sickness and evil
My berries are medicinal,
I can treat wounded hearts and souls,
Awaken unknown senses,
Reveal true potential
Remind you of your goals
and help you remember who you are, child.
In the Old Testament, I sheltered Elijah from Queen Jezebel's pursuit,
In the New Testament, I hid the infant child Jesus from King Herod's soldiers
And now I’ll do the same for you.
So when you leave me this year
Don’t dream of me and weep.
For I am always with you
And I’ll welcome you back with open arms
For as long as I live.
